Town, Village, or Both?
Eastchester confuses people for a good reason. The Town of Eastchester contains two villages, Bronxville and Tuckahoe, each with its own building department, while the rest of the Town is served by the Town Building Department on Mill Road. Before anything else, we confirm which office your address belongs to, because the forms, review times and rules differ.

Is my house under the Town of Eastchester Building Department?
If it’s in the unincorporated Town, yes. That office is at 40 Mill Road, 914-771-3317. The Villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe sit inside the Town but run their own building departments, so we confirm the address first.
What does the Town need for a siding permit?
The Town has a dedicated Roof and Siding Permit Application package. It asks for the completed application, an Affidavit of Ownership, and the contractor’s Westchester County license, liability insurance, workers’ compensation and disability insurance. We supply the contractor documents and prepare the rest with you.
Does changing the front of my house trigger Architectural Review?
It can. The Town’s ARB application says additions or alterations to a street-facing elevation that exceed 30% of that elevation’s area, not counting the roof, need review by both the Architectural Review Board and the Planning Board. Questions about that threshold go to the Building Inspector, and we ask before we plan.
When does the ARB meet?
Usually on the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m., with no meetings in July, August or December. It’s advisory to the Planning Board, which meets on the fourth Thursday.
What warranty comes with siding?
One year on our workmanship, in writing, plus the siding manufacturer’s own product warranty.
