Three Things to Know Before Re-Siding in Bronxville
There's a permit for it
The Village lists a Roof / Siding Installation Permit for installing or replacing siding.
There's a site visit first
A pre-permit inspection comes before the permit, with about three weeks of review.
There are quiet hours
Work runs 8 to 6 on weekdays only, with no weekends or holidays.

Small Village, Close Neighbors
Bronxville is only about a square mile, and many houses sit close together on sloping lots. That affects a siding job as much as the material does. We plan where the dumpster goes, how ladders and staging reach a tall wall without crossing a neighbor’s yard, and how debris is cleared before the 6 p.m. cutoff.
This before photo comes from one of our own siding projects. The after photos on our main siding page show the same house in black vertical siding. Every job starts with the old siding stripped so we can see the sheathing.
What We Install and Repair
- Cedar shingles. Replaced course by course or wall by wall, matched to exposure.
- Clapboard. Wood or vinyl, with proper corner boards and trim.
- Board-and-batten. For additions or a deliberate change of look.
- Trim and soffits. Rotted fascia, rake and corner boards rebuilt.
Behind every material we install a water-resistive barrier lapped from the bottom up, with flashing at each opening and every roof-to-wall joint.
Guardian on Your Job
Behind the name is our family team of five brothers, working alongside their father, and we’ve run jobs like this since 1980. On a Bronxville re-side, our project manager meets the Village inspector for the pre-permit visit, keeps the crew to the weekday schedule, and supervises the licensed, insured subcontractors who install the siding. Bronxville Siding FAQs
Does Bronxville require a permit for new siding?
Yes. The Village’s building permit list includes a Roof / Siding Installation Permit for installing or replacing siding. The Building Department at 200 Pondfield Road, 914-337-7338, gives detailed instructions on each project.
How long does the Village take?
Plan on about three weeks of review once the application is complete. The Village also does a pre-permit inspection, so we build that into the start date.
When can the crew work?
Construction is allowed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and not on weekends or holidays. We schedule around those hours, especially on a full re-side with a dumpster on the street.
Can you match old stucco-and-shingle details on a Tudor?
We repair and replace siding and trim to suit the house. Where a wall combines shingles, stucco and half-timbering, we scope each surface separately and tell you what can be repaired rather than replaced.
What warranty comes with siding?
One year on our workmanship, in writing, plus the siding manufacturer’s own product warranty.
