Three Filings a Bronxville Bathroom May Need
The Village Building Department at 200 Pondfield Road (914-337-7338) publishes what each kind of bathroom work needs. Most full remodels touch all three.
Building permit
For any alteration or replacement of cabinetry, countertops, sinks, tile or fixtures. Yes, even a straight vanity swap.
Plumbing permit
For work affecting drainage, vent or water supply piping, including relocating a toilet, shower or sink.
Electrical filing
For fans, lighting, heated floors or new outlets, filed with the Village and inspected by an approved agency.

Small Village, Busy Schedule
Bronxville is about one square mile, and many of its homes share walls, driveways or elevators with neighbors. The Village limits construction to 8 AM to 6 PM on weekdays, with no work on weekends or holidays, so a bathroom here is planned as a weekday job. We stage deliveries and debris removal to keep halls and driveways clear.
Review usually takes about three weeks, and the Village may make a pre-permit inspection first. We use that time to lock in tile, vanity and fixture selections. The bathroom in the photo is a Guardian remodel with a white vanity, a backlit mirror and marble-look tile.

Bronxville Bathroom Remodeling FAQs
Does replacing a vanity and tile need a permit in Bronxville?
Yes. The Village of Bronxville’s permit page says any alteration or replacement of cabinetry, countertops, sinks, tile, fixtures and similar items in a kitchen or bathroom needs a building permit.
What if we move the shower or toilet?
Any work that affects drainage, vent or water supply piping, including extending or relocating it, needs a plumbing permit. Our licensed plumber files it alongside the building permit.
We want a heated floor and a new fan. Who inspects that?
Electrical work is filed with the Village and inspected by one of the Village’s approved electrical inspection agencies. The licensed electrician sets up the inspection.
How long does the Village take?
Plan on about three weeks for review. The Village may also do a pre-permit inspection before the permit is issued.
What's covered by your warranty?
Our workmanship, for one year, in writing. Fixtures and vanities carry the makers’ own warranties.
