Is West Harrison its own village for permits?
No. West Harrison is part of the Town/Village of Harrison, so kitchen permits go through the Harrison Building Department at 1 Heineman Place (914-670-3050), the same office that serves Purchase and downtown Harrison.
What paperwork does Harrison want from the contractor?
License and insurance documents are required for every permit. We supply our Westchester County license and insurance certificates, and our licensed plumbing and electrical subcontractors supply theirs.
Does my kitchen need Architectural Board of Review approval?
Only if the work changes the outside of the house, such as a new door to the yard or a bump-out. An interior kitchen is a Building Department matter. If the Board is needed, its approval is not a building permit; that comes after.
How do you handle deliveries on a narrow street?
We schedule cabinet and counter deliveries with you and keep the dumpster or debris trailer off the road where we can. Most West Harrison streets are residential and tight, so we plan staging during the first visit.
