Siding in Hawthorne, NY
Westchester Siding Service Serving Hawthorne
Siding replacement and repair for Hawthorne’s capes, colonials and two-family houses. Town of Mount Pleasant permits filed online, built to the 2025 State codes, and managed by one Guardian project manager.
Hawthorne Permits Changed in 2026
Two changes this year affect anyone planning siding in Hawthorne. The Town of Mount Pleasant moved to the 2025 New York State codes on January 1, 2026, and stopped taking paper on July 1, 2026. A contractor still working from old forms or old code references will have the application sent back.
| Date | Change | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Jan 1, 2026 | 2025 NYS codes only | Plan barrier, flashing and insulation to the 2025 editions |
| Jul 1, 2026 | Paperless permitting | Upload every document, labeled the way the portal requires |
| At close-out | Notarized Affidavit of Final Cost | Prepare it with you before the final certificate |

From Tired Siding to a Clean Finish
The photo is one of our own exterior projects, finished in black siding. Hawthorne jobs are usually smaller houses on compact lots, so the work is about careful staging. Driveways stay usable, debris goes straight into the container, and walls are closed up the same day they’re opened when the weather turns.
Hidden behind the new cladding: sheathing checked board by board, house wrap shingled so water runs out rather than in, and metal flashing wherever a wall meets a roof, door or deck ledger.

A Contractor That Answers the Phone
Hawthorne homeowners tell us the hardest part of an exterior job is getting anyone to call back. With Guardian, one project manager owns your house from estimate to sign-off: the Online Service Center upload, the inspection bookings and the Affidavit of Final Cost. We’re our family team of five brothers, working alongside their father, a Westchester and Putnam contractor since 1980 holding Westchester County HIC #WC-38383-H24. The installers are licensed, insured subcontractors, and our project manager supervises them on site.
Finished exteriors are on the siding page. Clients describe the experience in their own words when you read our Google Reviews.
Hawthorne Siding FAQs
Who issues building permits in Hawthorne?
Hawthorne is a hamlet in the Town of Mount Pleasant, so permits come from the Town Building Department at Town Hall, One Town Hall Plaza, Valhalla. Its number is 914-742-2305, and the office is open 8:30 to 4:30 on weekdays.
Can I drop off a paper application?
No. Since July 1, 2026, the Town’s permitting has been paperless. Every document has to be uploaded and labeled through the Town’s Online Service Center. We prepare and upload the package.
Which code edition applies?
Since January 1, 2026, the Building Department accepts only applications prepared under the 2025 New York State codes. Applications referencing the 2020 code are treated as incomplete and returned.
What's needed at the end of a job?
The Town’s guidance says that before the final certificate is issued, a notarized Affidavit of Final Cost has to be filed with the Building Department. We prepare it with you so the close-out isn’t delayed.
What warranty comes with siding?
One year on our workmanship, in writing, plus the siding manufacturer’s own product warranty.
