Siding in Ardsley, NY
Westchester Siding Service Serving Ardsley
Siding replacement and repair for homes in the Village of Ardsley. Board of Architectural Review materials prepared, Village permits filed, and one Guardian project manager from the first visit to the final walk-through.

Ardsley Reviews the Look
Ardsley set up its Board of Architectural Review to prevent two things the Village Code names directly: excessive uniformity and excessive incongruity between neighboring houses. For a siding project, that means the Board cares about material, profile and color in the context of the street.
We bring the Board what helps it decide quickly: photos of the house and its neighbors, product samples, and a short description of what changes and what stays. The photo shows a Guardian exterior renovation finished in black siding with a new entry door.

Choosing a Material That Fits the Street
Most Ardsley houses are capes, colonials, splits and ranches on established streets. Here’s how the usual options compare:
| Material | Good fit for | Board conversation |
|---|---|---|
| Vinyl clapboard | Colonials and splits replacing old vinyl or aluminum | Usually about color and profile |
| Cedar shingle | Capes and traditional houses | Usually about matching existing details |
| Board-and-batten | Additions or contemporary updates | Usually about how it relates to neighbors |
We’ll show you samples on your own wall before you decide.

Ardsley Siding FAQs
Does siding in Ardsley go before the Board of Architectural Review?
Plan on it. Chapter 4 of the Village Code says all plans for which a building permit is sought must be brought before the Board of Architectural Review. Since siding is building-permit work in Ardsley, the Board sees it.
How often does the Board meet?
The Code provides for meetings twice a month, or less often when there are no applications. That makes it easier to fit into a schedule than a once-a-month board, but we still file as early as we can.
How is the permit fee set for siding?
The Village fee schedule lists roofing and siding as a single flat fee per filing, which covers the permit and the certificate of occupancy. It’s not based on the job’s value, as many other permits are.
Is Ardsley the same as Greenburgh for permits?
No. Ardsley is an incorporated village inside the Town of Greenburgh, and it runs its own Building Department and Board of Architectural Review. Houses outside the Village line deal with Greenburgh instead, so we check the address first.
What warranty comes with siding?
One year on our workmanship, in writing, plus the siding manufacturer’s own product warranty.
