General Contractor in Bronxville, NY

Westchester General Contracting Service Serving Bronxville

Kitchens, baths, interior renovations and exterior updates in the Village of Bronxville, scheduled around the Village’s weekday-only work rules.

A Square Mile With Strict Hours

Bronxville covers about one square mile, and its houses sit close to neighbors and narrow streets. The Village keeps construction to weekdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., with nothing on weekends or holidays. That shortens the working week, so a well-planned schedule matters more here than in most towns.

As your general contractor we build the schedule around those hours, stage deliveries so they do not block the street, and keep each trade ready when the previous one finishes.

Kitchen remodel with cream shaker cabinets, natural wood island and quartz countertop by Guardian Remodeling Corp

Before the Permit Is Issued

  • Applications go to the Building Department at Village Hall, 200 Pondfield Road
  • Plan on about three weeks for review
  • After approval, the Village does a pre-permit inspection
  • Kitchen and bath cabinetry, counters, sinks, tile and fixtures all need a permit
  • Certificates of occupancy or compliance close out the job

The kitchen in this photo, with cream shaker cabinets and a natural wood island, is a Guardian remodel.

Lawrence Park and Older Houses

The Lawrence Park Historic District, developed from the 1890s, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Throughout the Village, many homes are 80 to 100 years old, with plaster walls, older wiring and original baths.

We open those walls carefully and let you know what we find before we change the plan. Licensed, insured electricians and plumbers handle the systems work, supervised by our project manager.

Bronxville General Contractor FAQs

When can contractors work in Bronxville?

Village rules allow construction, demolition, alteration and repair only from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. No work is allowed on weekends or on the listed state and national holidays.

How long does a Village building permit take?

The Building Department says its normal review lead time is three weeks. Once the application is approved, the Village sets up a pre-permit inspection before issuing the permit.

Does replacing kitchen cabinets need a permit?

Yes. The Village lists cabinetry, countertops, sinks, tile and fixture work in kitchens and baths among the work that needs a permit.

Can you look up old permits on my house?

Property files can be viewed by appointment (914-337-7338) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Checking the file before design helps us spot any open or missing permits.
