General Contractor in Ardsley, NY
Westchester General Contracting Service Serving Ardsley
Renovations, kitchens, baths, additions and exterior projects in the Village of Ardsley, with design review and permits managed by Guardian.
A Small Village With a Full Review Process
Ardsley incorporated in 1896 and is one of the smaller villages in Greenburgh, but its review process is complete. The Building Department at Village Hall handles permits and also routes Planning Board, Zoning Board and Board of Architectural Review applications. Exterior changes often need a stop at the BAR before a permit is issued.
We map that path on the first visit so design review does not become the thing that delays your start.

Between the River and the Parkways
The village sits in the Saw Mill River valley, with the Sprain Brook and the Thruway nearby and the old Croton Aqueduct trail running through it. Houses near the river deal with water and moisture, and hillside homes deal with grading and drainage. Both shape how we plan foundations, basements and additions.
The primary bath in this photo, with a freestanding tub and glass shower, is a Guardian renovation.

The Guardian Team
Since 1980 our family has built and renovated homes. Five brothers run Guardian alongside our father. We hold Westchester County HIC #WC-38383-H24, pull our own permits and supervise licensed, insured subcontractors for electrical and plumbing. Several architects we can recommend, depending on the work. Financing available.
Ardsley General Contractor FAQs
Where is the Ardsley Building Department?
At Village Hall, 507 Ashford Avenue (914-693-1550). The same office takes applications for the Planning Board, Zoning Board and Board of Architectural Review.
Does exterior work need design review?
The Village’s procedures have called for Board of Architectural Review approval before a building permit for work other than interior work. We confirm the current rule for your project and prepare the submission.
Is flooding a concern in Ardsley?
Low-lying areas along the Saw Mill River have a long history of flooding. For work near the river we check the property’s flood zone and plan the lower floor and mechanicals accordingly.
Do you do smaller jobs?
Yes, from a single bath to a full renovation. The value of a general contractor grows with the number of trades.
What does a design review submission usually include?
The Village’s older procedure sheet listed sets of plans, a survey, a zoning worksheet and photos of the house, its front and each neighboring structure. We confirm the current checklist with the Building Department before we assemble the package, so it is complete when it goes in.
Who handles the electrical and plumbing?
Licensed, insured subcontractors do that work under the supervision of a Guardian project manager, who also coordinates their permits with the building permit.
