General Contractor in Hartsdale, NY

Westchester General Contracting Service Serving Hartsdale

Renovations for Hartsdale houses and apartments, from kitchens and baths to full-floor updates, with Greenburgh permits and building approvals handled.

Houses, Co-ops and Everything Between

Between about 1880 and 1940, Hartsdale’s farms and estates were divided into house lots and apartment buildings, and Warburg Woodlands was laid out in 1904. The result is a mix you do not see in many Westchester hamlets: single-family homes on quiet streets near co-op and condo buildings close to the train station.

Each needs a different approach. A house renovation runs through the Town permit process. An apartment renovation adds a building board, alteration agreements and limits on working hours and freight elevators.

Tub and shower remodel with large white marble-look wall panels, black rain shower head and hex tile niche by Guardian Remodeling Corp

One Contractor for Every Approval

As your general contractor, Guardian puts together the Greenburgh application with its notarized ownership affidavit, insurance naming the Town and our county license, plus an HOA or board approval letter when one is required. We then line up licensed plumbers and electricians under our supervision.

The tub and shower in this photo, with white marble-look walls and a black rain head, is a Guardian bath.

Hartsdale General Contractor FAQs

Who issues permits in Hartsdale?

Hartsdale is a hamlet in the unincorporated Town of Greenburgh, so the Greenburgh Building Department at 177 Hillside Avenue handles permits (914-989-1560). In-person submission hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.

I live in a co-op or a community with an HOA. What do I need?

Greenburgh’s application package asks for an HOA approval letter when one applies. Co-op boards usually have their own alteration agreement too, so we start that paperwork early.

What does a Greenburgh application include?

An original and two copies, a notarized affidavit of ownership, insurance naming the Town, and a copy of the contractor’s Westchester County license, among other items. Plans must follow the 2025 New York State codes.

Does a small repair need a permit?

The Town’s FAQ says permits are required for any construction, repair, improvement, modification or demolition. We tell you on the first visit what your project needs.
