The Village’s Architectural Review Advisory Council looks at the exterior appearance of proposed buildings and alterations. We include elevations and material samples when a project goes to it.

Does it matter which town my Briarcliff house is in?

The Village spans parts of the Towns of Mount Pleasant and Ossining, but Village permits come from the Village Building and Engineering Department either way. Taxes and some services follow the town line.

How long are office hours?

The department is open on weekdays, with shorter summer hours. We handle the filings and the visits, so you do not have to plan around the office schedule.
