General Contractor in Eastchester, NY
Westchester General Contracting Service Serving Eastchester
Renovations, kitchens, baths, additions and exterior work in the Town of Eastchester, with the Town’s inspection sequence and design review handled by Guardian.
The Town Inspection Sequence
1. Permit
Application filed with the Building Department on Mill Road.
2. Rough work
Framing, plumbing and electrical rough-in, then inspection with 24 hours’ notice.
3. Insulation
Inspected before any sheetrock goes up.
4. Electrical
Checked by one of the Town-approved inspection agencies.
5. Final
Final inspections, smoke and CO alarm check, and close-out.
Why the Order Matters
Eastchester’s inspectors want to see each stage before it is covered up. If the insulation is hidden before inspection, or the electrical agency has not signed off, the job stops until it is opened again. A general contractor’s real value is keeping those stages, and the trades behind them, in order.
Guardian’s project manager coordinates our licensed plumbing and electrical subcontractors with our carpenters and finishers, and books each inspection ahead of time.

Kitchens and Baths in Eastchester Homes
Eastchester’s streets have a lot of Tudors, colonials and capes from the 1920s through the 1950s. Kitchens are often closed off and baths are original. Renovating means modern plumbing and wiring inside old framing.
The kitchen in this photo, with white raised-panel cabinets, crown molding and a dark island, is a Guardian remodel.

Eastchester General Contractor FAQs
Is Bronxville or Tuckahoe part of the Town permit system?
No. Bronxville and Tuckahoe are villages inside the Town of Eastchester with their own building departments. Homes in the unincorporated town file with the Town Building Department at 40 Mill Road (914-771-3317), open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
How are inspections scheduled?
The Town asks for at least 24 hours’ notice. Its inspection schedule calls for framing, then insulation before sheetrock, and electrical work is inspected by one of the Town’s approved electrical inspection agencies.
When does a project go to the Architectural Review Board?
Exterior changes go to the ARB, which meets on the first Thursday of the month (no meetings in July, August or December). If a change affects more than 30 percent of a street-facing elevation, it goes to the ARB and the Planning Board.
What are the construction hours?
Exterior work is limited to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. We plan around that.
Do plumbers need anything special in Eastchester?
The Town’s inspection schedule has the County-licensed plumber file the plumbing work with a schematic, and gas piping is pressure-tested before it is covered. Our plumbing subcontractors handle that, and we schedule the test with the inspector.
