Whole-Home Remodeling in Ossining, NY

Westchester Whole-Home Remodeling Service Serving Ossining

Complete renovations of Ossining homes, from Sparta to the hills above the Hudson, with Village permits, board reviews and licensed trades coordinated by Guardian.

Older Houses on Steep Streets

Ossining was incorporated as a village in 1813 under the name Sing Sing, and much of its housing stock goes back generations. Whole-home renovations here often mean updating old wiring and plumbing, opening tight kitchens and rebuilding bathrooms, all on hillside lots where access and staging take planning.

We start with a full walkthrough, including the basement and attic, so the scope covers what the house really needs.

Classic Cabinets, Updated Kitchen

The white raised-panel cabinets and dark island in this photo are a Guardian kitchen. A traditional look like this suits many of Ossining’s older homes and is often where a whole-home renovation starts.

From there, flooring, trim and paint carry through the rest of the house so every room matches.

Typical Ossining Scope

Kitchen

Layout, cabinets, counters, lighting.

Baths

Rebuilt with new plumbing.

Systems

Wiring and plumbing updated while walls are open.

Exterior

Siding, roofing and entry work if the plan calls for it.

Planning Around the Hills

Many Ossining streets are steep, and some driveways are tight. Before work starts we decide where the dumpster goes, how materials get to the door and where trucks can park without blocking neighbors. On a whole-home job that runs for months, getting this right early keeps the project moving and keeps the street on good terms with you.

Why Homeowners Choose Guardian

Guardian Remodeling Corp has been a family company since 1980, five brothers alongside our father. We are licensed and insured, pull the permits and give a one-year workmanship warranty. When the plan needs an architect, we have several we can recommend. Pay by check, credit card, Zelle or cash, or ask about HFS Financial financing.

Ossining Whole-Home Remodeling FAQs

Village or Town of Ossining?

Check the address. The Village of Ossining Building Department is at 101 Route 9A and takes applications through the CitySquared online portal. Unincorporated areas file with the Town of Ossining’s Building Department.

What insurance does the Village want?

The Village application asks for liability insurance naming the Village of Ossining, 16 Croton Avenue, plus New York workers’ compensation and disability forms (C-105.2 and DB-120.1). Acord certificates are not accepted for those. We provide them.

Who reviews exterior changes?

In the Village, the Planning Board acts as the Board of Architectural Review. Houses in the Downtown Ossining or Sparta historic districts also need a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Commission.

When do the electrician and plumber file?

After the building permit is issued, the licensed electrical and plumbing subcontractors file their own permits. Our project manager coordinates the timing.
