The Village of Bronxville Building Department works out of Village Hall at 200 Pondfield Road (914-337-7338). Applications go in at the front counter as signed originals with the correct fee and the contractor’s insurance certificates; the Village doesn’t accept copies or faxes.
Bronxville is stricter than many villages about interior work: the Village requires a building permit for any alteration or replacement of cabinetry, countertops, sinks, tile or fixtures in a kitchen or bathroom. Roof and siding replacements have their own installation permit as well.
Plan on about three weeks for the Village’s normal review. Once the plans are approved, the department schedules a pre-permit inspection before the permit is issued, and every building permit is closed with a Certificate of Occupancy; siding and some other permits close with a Certificate of Completion.
Construction is allowed only between 8 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with no work on weekends or the listed holidays.
